International Anti- Corruption Day -December 9
“In the way I perceive, corruption is an infectious experience involved in every aspect of the Indian society. The common man finds corruption as the easiest way to get a work done. People should have guts to raise voice against corrupt practices rather than going with whatsoever is happening” said Mr. Maalan, Editor, Puthiya Thalaimurai.
He was speaking at the unique function organized by Anti corruption Movement Chennai and other like minded organizations at Ethiraj College on recently.
Mr. Maalan questioned why the electorate exercised their franchise in lieu of money in the most recent years.
"In point of fact, an atmosphere has to be created where the honest persons contentedly come forward to serve the country with social acknowledgment" he added.
On the elated occasion 4 MLAs were honoured with the Tiruvalluvar Award for Political Honesty.
Mr. R. Annadurai (Communist Party of India - Marxist),
Prof. M. H. Jawahirullah (Manithaneya Makkal Katchi),
Mr. K. Pandia Rajan (Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam) and
Dr. Pushpa Leela Alban (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) were the MLAs honoured.
Others who spoke include Mr. S.M.Arasu, General Secretary, Anti corruption Movement Chennai, Mr. B.S.Raghavan, former Chief Secretary of West Bengal, Dr. Kumari Ananthan, Senior Congress Leader and Mr. Sudha Ramalingam, Madras High Court Advocate.
