Pocket Money Workshop for School Teachers by NISM


National Institute of Securities Market - NISM"s "Pocket Money" Program was launched in Tamil, for the high school students of Chennai Corporation Schools, recently at Madras Stock Exchange Ltd ( MSE ). A full day workshop for the School Teachers was organised by MSE jointly with NISM and attended by teachers from 50 Corporation schools.

"Pocket Money" Kit contains Eight Chapters on various aspects, Do"s and Don"ts of Money, Savings, Budgeting, Networth, Investments, Borrowing, Banking, Credit cards, Mutual funds, Gold, ETF, Postal savings, Simple and Ccompound interests, EMI, etc. Explained in simple terms with lots of colourful illustrations, it is targeted at 8th and 9th standard students.


Already launched in English in more than 10 schools in Chennai - covering more than 1,000 students, Pocket Money is an important skill / tool for any school student. With the launch in Tamil this year (2012), it will strive to achieve its target of creating a new generation of Financially Responsible Investors / Citizens.
