Pilot Project In Two Districts : Punjab Government To Start Online Registration of Property..!

The Punjab government on recently announced that the state is all set to start online registration of property & plot of land with the completion of pilot project in 2 districts of SAS Nagar & Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.

Transparency in Revenue Transactions..!

In a meeting held recently to review the ongoing projects of Revenue Department, Revenue Minister Mr.Bikram Singh Majithia said, that going by the commitment of SAD-BJP government to bring transparency in the revenue transactions, the department is all set to implement online registration of property and plot of land.

Mr.Bikram Singh Majithia also said, ''Mohali would be the first district in which this project would be implemented by October, 2012. Under the project, the buyer would send  E - mail to the portal of Punjab Land Record Society requesting for the registration and he / she would be allotted a password through E - mail.The buyer have to gradually furnish details about the property, text of registration of document & challan number of deposit of stamp duty on the browser of the portal. After the submission of the document through E - mail, the registration authority would check the veracity of the document, and give a print out of the registration to the buyer after depositing the registration fee."

Punjab Land Records Society ( PLRS) is a society established (under Registration of Societies Act, 1860) by the Government of Punjab to formulate strategies, polices, plans and to assist the State Government & Government of India in the effort to provide efficient & prompt services in the public matters. relating to land & revenue, through the use of Information Technology and its related fields.

The primary objective of PLRS is to oversee, monitor the implementation of computerization & digitization of Land Records and related documents in Punjab for the overall benefit of the citizens & to provide Land Records related services through multiple common access infrastructeres like Sukhmani Centres to the public.

This Society is a State level body being constituted specifically to mange the Land Records in all its dimensions and would work under the overall policy framework of  PSEGS (Punjab State E- Governance Society).
