Sundaram Scion, Mr. Harsha Viji, takes over as MD of Sundaram MF

Sundaram Scion, Mr. Harsha Viji, has taken over as Managing Director of Sundaram Asset Management Company, the investment manager of Sundaram Mutual fund, areputed and major fund house in the industry.

Mr.Harsha Viji succeeds Mr.T.P.Raman who relinquished the post of Managing Director upon his retirement on June 30, 2012 after serving the company for 16 years as the Managing Director. Mr.T.P.Raman, since the inception of Sundaram AMC in 1996, successfully spearheaded the company’s growth, turning it into one of the most respected asset management companies in India.

Mr.Harsha Viji, the new Managing Director, joined the company in October 2010 as Deputy Managing Director and has since been instrumental in steering the fortunes of Sundaram Mutual. Mr.Harsha Viji carries enriching experience and expertise in strategic planning and consulting, serving in numerous capacities at McKinsey & Company, New York and Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Chennai. Mr.Harsha Viji has also been associated with Sundaram Finance group since 1998 in various senior management roles and is also Director-Strategy and Planning at Sundaram Finance Limited.

Handing over the reins of management to Mr. Harsha Viji, Mr.T.P.Raman said that, “It’s been a rewarding journey for me at Sundaram Mutual fund. After retirement Mr. Raman continues to be associated with Sundaram AMC Limited as a NonExecutive Director. Mr. Harsha Viji, holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Ross School, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He currently holds Directorships in several companies of the Sundaram group including Sundaram Finance Limited, Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company Limited, and Sundaram Asset Management Company Limited.
