FII Inflows into Indian Stocks Touch $ 900 Crore in 2012

Overseas investors have pumped in about .Rs. 8,381crore ($ 1.6800) in the Indian equity market in the month of March, 2012 taking the calendar year to date total to a whopping . Rs. 43,951 crore ($ 889 Crore).

According to market regulator SEBI, during March, FIIs (Foreign Institutional Investors) were gross buyers of shares worth .Rs. 63,795.10 crore, while they sold equities amounting to .Rs.55,413.80 crore, translating into a net investment of Rs. 8,381.10 crore, With FIIs having already poured nearly $ 900 Crore so far this year, inflows from the investors are likely to touch $ 1,000 Crore in the next few weeks, analysts believe.
