Andhra Pradesh (AP):

* Municipal Corporations ; Special Grade /  Stamp selection Grade Municipalities - 7% Stamp Duty + 2% Transfer Duty + 0.5% Registration Fee

* Other Local areas (Municipalities & Panchayats) :  6% Stamp Duty + 3% Transfer Duty + 0.5% Registration Fee

* Flats (Apartments) :  5% Stamp Duty + 2% Transfer + 0. 5% Registration Fee

Assam:


Upto Rs. 1 lakh  8% . Above Rs. 1 lakh  12%  + 2% Extra for property under Municipal Corporation Limit.

Registration fees is charged extra based on the cost of plot of land/ house property

Chandigarh :
 Stamp Duty 5% Only

Chattisgarh:

* 7.5% + 1% Stamp Duty - Panchayat Area , 
* 5%+ 1% Stamp Duty - Corporation Area

Delhi:

*   Stamp Duty 6% - Purchase in name of Male
*   Stamp Duty 4% - Purchase in name of Female

Gujarat :
 Stamp Duty 4.9% + 1% Registration Fees

Haryana :
*  Stamp Duty 6%- Purchase in name of Male
 *  Stamp Duty 4% - Purchase in name of Female

Himachal :
Stamp duty 5% only

Jammu & Kashmir :

 Stamp Duty 7.5%

Jharkhand :
Stamp duty 5%

Karnataka :

Stamp duty 7.5%

Kerala :
* No Stamp Duty on Flats Valuing Less than
Rs 5 lakh
* Stamp duty 10% - Flats in Corporation Area
* Stamp duty  9% - Municipal Area
* Stamp duty 6.5% - Panchayat Area 

Madhya Pradesh :
*  Stamp duty  8% - Purchase in name of Male
* Stamp duty 6% - Purchase in name of Female
*  2% surcharge - urban properties
*  1% surcharge - rural properties
*  0.4% surcharge on vacant plot of land

Maharashtra :
Gram panchayats -  2% duty on property value.
Municipal councils  - 4% rate
Urban areas including those under municipal corporations 5% duty

Manipur : 
Stamp duty  7%
+ 1% Transfer Duty - Municipal Area
+ 1% Registration Fee (Whole State)

Nagaland :
Stamp duty Minimum 5%, Stamp duty Maximum 10%

Orissa :Stamp duty 8%

Punjab : * Stamp duty 5% - Rural Areas
* Stamp duty 8% - Urban Areas
(Reduction of 1% for ladies) 

Rajasthan :
* Urban Land - Stamp duty 6.5%
* Agricultural Land (Female) - Stamp duty 5%
* First Transfer of Apartment by Owner/ Developer of Multistoried Building - 8%
Within 10 years from such transfer
* First subsequent transfer - Stamp duty  5%
* Second subsequent transfer - Stamp duty 4%
* Third subsequent transfer - Stamp duty  3%       

Tamil Nadu :    Stamp duty 5% + 2% surcharge = 7%
      
Tripura :    Stamp duty 5%       

Uttaranchal :    * Stamp duty 8% + 2% surcharge - Inside Development Area
* Stamp duty 8% - Outside Development Area       

Uttar Pradesh :    * Stamp duty 5% + 2% surcharge - Inside Development Area
* Stamp duty 5% - Outside Development Area
(1% Rebate for women if market value/ consideration is till Rs. 10 Lakh)
+ Registration Fee of 2% maximum Rs. 5,000       

West Bengal :* Stamp duty 6%-Municipal Areas
* Stamp duty 5% - Rural Areas
+ (1% Stamp Duty - where consideration/ market value more than Rs.25 Lakh)
