The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked banks to be proactive in locating nearly 1.2 crore account holders whose accounts are inactive for above ten years, the central government has said.
Minister of state for finance Mr. Namo Narain Meena said the Lok Sabha in a written reply.
“Keeping in view public interest, the RBI has advised all banks to play a more proactive role in finding the whereabouts of the account holders whose accounts have remained inoperative,”
