Cement Manufacturers' Association : M. A. M. R Muthiah is new head

M. A. M. R Muthiah

Mr. M. A. M. R Muthiah, Managing Director, Chettinad Cement Corporation (Tamilnadu) took over as the president of the Cement Manufacturers' Association (CMA)  at its 50th annual session recently in Newdelhi.

CMA is the apex industry body that has private and public sector cement companies as members.

Mr.  Muthiah acts as a bridge between the industry and the Government with an objective to promote the former's growth, protect consumer interests, and collaborate with international counterparts.

The industry holds a significant place in the national economy because of its strong linkages to various sectors, such as construction, transportation, coal and power, with the housing sector being among the largest consumers in the coming years.

Mr. O. P. Puranmalka, whole-time director, Ultratech Cement has taken over as the Vice President.
