Chennai based Hindustan Chamber of Commerce celebrated its Chamber Day for completing its 60 years of distinguished service to the industry (1945 – 2011). His Excellency Dr.K.Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu graced the occasion and gave away the ‘Champion of Humanity Award’ to Mr. Vidyashankar Krishnan, Managing Director, M.M. Forgings, and also to Dr. S. Suresh, Managing Director, Mediscan Systems.
H.E Dr .K.Rosaiah said “The Chambers of Commerce have an onerous responsibility in steering our nation’s progress. They should act as a bridge between the Industry, Business class and the Governments. They should be facilitator of industrial progress and prosperity. The members of Chamber of Commerce should shoulder the responsibility in setting in motion the wheel of progress. I am sure that the Hindustan Chamber of Commerce will take it as its bounden duty to facilitate India’s transformation into an economically vital, technologically innovative, socially and ethically vibrant global leader by year 2022.”
He also said “It is a matter of great pride to participate in the ‘Chamber Day’ celebrations of the Hindustan Chamber of Commerce which was visited by great leaders like Dr.S.Radhakrishnan, the then President of India, Smt. Indira Gandhi, Shri Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr.C.N.Annadurai and Shri C.Subramaniam.”
Mr. Nimish C Tolia, President, Hindustan Chamber Of Commerce said, “As we look back on our 64 years of existence, we remember with gratitude the foresight and dynamism of the dedicated band of pioneer businessmen who felt the need for an organized body which could speak for the business community as a whole.”
