The special trial court for the 2G spectrum scam on recently dismissed Unitech MD Mr. Sanjay Chandra’s plea of travelling abroad for his nine-year-old son’s treatment.
Mr.O.P Saini, Special CBI Judge said, “Your (Chandra’s) application is dismissed,” turning down Chandra’s plea to go abroad for his son’s treatment who has been diagnosed as suffering from diabetes.
Mr. Chandra, who is an accused in the 2G spectrum allocation scam, had sought the court’s permission to go abroad between December 24 and 29 during the court’s winter vacation citing a medical appointment with a doctor on December 27.
The CBI, however had opposed the plea saying probe regarding the money trail in the 2G case was still on.
Senior advocate Mr.R.S Cheema, appearing for Mr.Chandra, had said ,This was a case where opposition of his request was not justified and on humanitarian ground, the court could have considered it."
