Real estate developer Ajmera Realty & Infra has entered into a joint venture with the Videocon Group to make a foray into the solar power sector.
Ajmera Biofuel, a 100% subsidiary of Ajmera Realty & Infra, has entered into a JV (Joint Venture) with Videocon and formed form Comet Power Private in which wherein Ajmera will hold 49% and the rest 51% shall vest with the latter.
The new company Comet Power has invested Rs 86 crore to set up 5.75 MW solar power project in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Mr. Ajmera, Business Head, Renewal space Nimish Ajmera said, "This is the first set of solar projects approved and commissioned under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission launched in January 2010. We will be adopting the poly crystalline silicon SPV (solar photo voltaic) cell technology."
Comet Power has signed power purchase agreement for 25 years with a subsidiary of NTPC under the JNNSM (Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission)
