The Kerala PWD (Public Works Department ) is holding a three-day ‘Infrastructure Conference 2011’ in Thiruvananthapuram from Today (Nov, 16, 2011).
The Infrastructure conference will focus on the need for a paradigm shift towards modern technologies, superior construction techniques and efficient management for sustainable development of projects.
Mr. V K Ibrahim Kunju, PWD Minister said, ''The PWD, which spearheads the civil construction activities of the State, needs a total revamp with a view to imbibing technological and conceptual advancements and adopting them in an appropriate manner. In fact, the PWD shall look at providing leadership by rapidly adopting modern technologies”
The Infrastructure conference is structured in such a manner as to host 8 technical sessions where about 25 nationally and internationally renowned experts in various related sectors would share their invaluable experience. Nearly 175 delegates will be participating.
Topics being discussed include project conceptualisation and planning; investigation and data capture using modern technique; comprehensive safety measures; quality assurance programmes; and internationally accepted best practices in civil construction, modern designing based on latest software.
