In the first six months of 2011, Americans and Russians were among the top buyers of plot of land and flats
Dubai Land Department data shared that Americans purchased 66 land of plots for Dh 33.50 crore and 456 flats for Dh 61.50 crore. Russians spent Dh 27.90 crore to buy 41 plots of land and Dh 129.10 crore for purchasing 791 flats.
UAE nationals topped the list of plot of land buyers spending almost Dh 559.9 crore, while Indians were top flats buyers, having spent Dh 328. crore.
Indians followed UAE Nationals by buying 381 land plots worth Dh 166.60 crore, followed by Britons who bought 239 plots for Dh 109.0 crore. Pakistani nationals purchased 132 plots for Dh 44 crore while Iranians came in fifth by purchasing 107 plots for Dh 52.10 crore.
Britons were second top buyers of flats, having purchased 1,818 units for Dh2.396 billion. Pakistanis followed in by buying 1,602 apartments for Dh1.261 billion, while Iranians bought 1,517 apartments for Dh2.252 billion.
Indians bought 203 villas and buildings for Dh 33.80 crore, followed by Britons who purchased 139 villas and buildings for Dh 24.10 crore. Pakistanis, Iranians and UAE nationals were next on the list, having spent Dh 16.10 crore, Dh 7.8 crore and Dh 4.9crore , respectively, to buy villas and flats.
Total plot of land and flats purchases during the first six months amounted to Dh 1,461.90 crore and Dh 2105.70 crore, respectively, or a total of Dh 3,568 crore .
